  • Trainee Accountant

    The Trainee Accountant will be a member of an accountancy team responsible for providing a professional accountancy service in respect of a number of the Comhairle's Committees. The postholder will also be seconded to other areas and services provided by the Department of Assets, Finance and Resources such as Council Tax, Payroll, Creditors etc. in order to gain a wide and comprehensive knowledge of the department.

    The postholder may also be required to assist in the undertaking of specialist financial functions, depending on the section of the department to which they are seconded. Tasks identified will be appropriate to the postholder's professional development.

    REQUIREMENTS 

    You must have strong written and numerical communication skills, be competent in using IT systems in a working environment, including spreadsheets and have the ability to prioritise and manage work to short deadlines. It is essential that you are educated to degree level (or equivalent) or if older than 21 with a minimum of three years relevant work experience to qualify for Mature Entry.
    Fixed term contract for 3 years. 

    Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
